This design was developed for the Courier micro label for a limited edition mini CDr, which features 4 tracks of synthy, spacey electronics inspired by the sun, from new artist Lachrylic. The mini CDr comes complete with a limited edition postcard featuring the artwork below, released on 11th June 2012, which you can now purchase via couriersound.bandcamp.com now sold out.
The design was developed using Fyre, a software that interactively renders Peter de Jong maps (chaotic functions using mathematics from chaos theory). Although my knowledge of higher mathematics is negligible, I was attracted to this technique through the relationships between figures used to produce the imagery, and numerical elements of electronic music. The major challenge was finding a way to install the software on my current computer, since the last release was in 2006. You can find out more about Fyre at fyre.navi.cx
