Risograph workshops

Risograph is a stencil-based printing technique that marries processes from the digital and screen printing world. It has been adopted by artists and creatives world-wide as a way of producing  - from a sole artist perspective - high volume and low-cost imagery and publications.

My background as a printmaker and printer means I was drawn to risograph processes that enabled me to build on my digital design and printmaking knowledge.  These skills were developed within the publication I developed with Ruth Jones in 2019.

I have  subsequently delivered risograph induction sessions at The Old Waterworks, and additionally created workshops for TOMA, GrrllZine and for TOW in connection with Pluto Press. You can find out about using the TOW risograph here

The Department  - Reading Group and Workshops 2025

A series of in-person reading group and protest sign workshops  for The Old Waterworks (supported by Pluto Press). In these sessions participants were guided through John Pring's publication 'The Department; How a Violent Government Bureaucracy Killed Hundreds and Hid the Evidence'. To balance the subject matter of the book, participants were supporting in making protest signs responding to the themes raised in the publication.

TOMA riso induction sessions 2024

The Other MA is an artist-run education model and exhibition programme based in Southend on Sea which supports artists who have faced barriers accessing art education and the 'art world'.

Induction sessions took place in August 2024, with students experimenting with Blockface, deliberate offsetting and glitching, and the use of test prints abandoned by other artists as a way of creating unique risographs.

Grrlzine Fair rise sessions 2024

Participants experimented with Blockface typographic stamps  as a way of creating unique  text template for risographs.
