Combined Gels - Graphics Interchange Format: 25 Years of Focal Point Gallery
Shown as part of FPG’s 25th Anniversary multi-screen exhibition ‘Graphics Interchange Format: 25 Years of Focal Point Gallery’, Combined Gels utilises scans of lighting gels used in the process of making Spectracube, but not part of that work itself. Picking up on approaches of reuse and recycling, and reflecting the transitions between analog and digital representation occurring during FPGs 25 year history the scans are built into a 5 by 5 grid.
As part of the gallery's collaborative project with Fraser Muggeridge studio, every artist who has exhibited with the gallery, or worked on projects and workshops over the last 25 years has been invited to create a new GIF artwork.
The exhibition ran from 21 July to 17 October 2015. The GIFs will also be included on the gallery’s new website, launching at a future date.
